Memories of Dad

From here he made his famous "Chocolate Chip Cookies"
which he mailed fresh out of the oven to his family all over the country.
He also made them each time he visited his Dr.'s office and his oxygen company.
When I went to both places after Dad passed away, they were very sad
to hear of his death and remember his cookies with a lip-smacking smile.

He enjoyed visiting Loretta Korch(Roberta's mother-in-law) when she moved to a retirement condo San Marcos,
but was so happy he had his private paradise instead of a large retirement center to live in.

In February, Sherward came for the Iwo Jima Reunion at Camp Pendleton.
He & Dad had a wonderful and special visit. I love this picture of them laughing..

Is there a question in anyone's mind about Dad's consistent phone calls, cookies & cards?
He was a "Family Man"......and how he enjoyed our occasional get togethers throughout the years.

In June, He took a very long trip to the Midwest, visiting as many of Mom's Norwegian kin as he could.
Debi & Elliot flew out from MA to join him. They enjoyed visiting with the Spickler's, the Holloway's, the Oksness's,
even Roger Stole a friend from way back still living in Halstead, MN.

He traveled to Alabama & Florida to visit his siblings and the Currier kin in October.

We were fortunate to visit Lillian shortly before she passed away.
At her funeral, we visited with the Ellis families and the Hetlands.

In June, he traveled to see Steve & Barbara Hetland get married in Solvang, CA
   

In September, he drove into the Cuyamaca mountains for Laurel & Devon's marriage.

1999
A sad beginning to 1999 when Glyneta suddenly died in her sleep on January 2.

He celebrated his "75th" birthday in Redwood City visiting Lois Farnsworth.
