Donkey and Goat Winery
Berkeley, CA

One of the women in Tara's mother's group has this winery with her husband. They have an annual 4th of July BBQ which we enjoyed.

Petaluma, CA

Across the street friends, Sam & Katy, have some acreage in the country.
We were invited to spend a day to see their ongoing project.

Here they are: Sam & Katy with twin daughters, Amy & Rachel and their recently built barn above.

Sam collects cars....here are just a few of them.   Beauties they are, indeed!

The wagon was the big hit of the day and many took turns pulling.

Their newly dug pond was a good way to cool off & fun for the kids (a bit muddy, though).
Everyone loved having the cows near. It brought back memories of VT for me.

Neighbor Dan (not my Dan) the BBQ man prepared all the scrumptious meats...then it was time to eat!

Julia had some "pig tales" to tell the other kids!

Can't forget the S'mores for dessert, Julia says!
The evening ended with a pretty sunset which the bare-bottom kids saw from the cow gate.

Bath time is always fun.

July 7, 2008
Great Aunt Lou's sock dolls arrived!
Tristan tried the arms...then the feet....then Julia created a play for him with her new sockdoll & his.

Swim Lessons for Julia.

While waiting for swim lessons to begin, Tristan discovered grass while Julia ran & ran in the wading pool.

She's learning to put her head under the water.

Here are the two boys just 3 days apart, Tristan & Miles.     Nanny Hewitt has her hands full once again!

Fish Lake OR

RV friends, Linda & Bob Stockton, are camp hosts at this national forest campground, Fish Lake.
I spent the weekend visiting and enjoying the rv lifestyle again with them.

This year, Bob got a new set of wheel to run around the park.....it's a classic!

Bob loaded up the cart with the kayaks so that Linda & Chico and Leanne could enjoy the beautiful Sunday morning.

Sunday July 21st
A few hrs drive north and I arrived in Coburg, OR to stay with my friends Mark & Cindy.

Mark was enjoying a ride on the McKenzie River.

Pita found a nutria hole and couldn't resist getting her nose in there. Finally Cindy got both dogs clean.

Cindy and Mark relax in their backyard and this flowering artichoke in their garden was beautiful!

Coburg Quilt Show & High Tea!
"Quilts-a-Flutter"
Saturday, July 26th, 2008      9:00am to 4:00pm      Admission is Free

There were buggy rides, of course. This quilt below was a project of the loccal 2nd graders!

I stopped coming back from Eugene to take these 2 photos of the fields surrounding Coburg.
This is dill & wheat.....there are so many more things growing. It's quite a sight to see.

Below is the field behind Cindy & Mark's house. It's a field of radishes for seed.
My VT teddybear protects the orchid Tara gave me in my room here!
