The
Nomadic NaNa
June 2008

I arrived in Oakland Saturday night May 31st. I had a pleasant 8 hr drive from San Diego
in my new 98 Saturn wagon that Dan bought for me. It's economical, comfortable and seems
to be a reliable car. Good for me as I'll be traveling around between
San Diego, Oakland & Coeur d'Alene keeping up with my growing grandchildren,
my family & friends as much as I can.

Julia had her very 1st soccer practice. Look how excited she got when she had a chance to kick the ball!

When she came home, she went across the street to play with the twins Amy & Rachel.

Of course, they had to get naked to go in the pool to cool off!

Tara's block in the neighborhood is very special. Friendly people & lots of children who meet to play regularly.
This Sunday, they had a neighborhood BBQ get-together & potluck.

Getting the kids to pose for a picture was a challenge......but they actually did great, funny faces & all!

Tristan tries his first food.....rice cereal......hmmmmmm, does he like it?

Sunday June 5th Father's Day
Tara got tickets for the A's game so off they went! For Julia.....it's all about the food!

Busy, busy, happy, happy!
 |
Ahhhh.....swaddled and sound asleep for the night.
This night I saw a beautiful sunset from my window as I worked on updating some client's sites.
A very welcome pause in a busy life here in Oakland.

Julia's School Picnic
The parents of the pre-school children planned a Saturday picnic for their kids.
Lots of kids, lots of fun for them, good food & good conversation for us.

We did have some fun times at home playing imaginary games...... directed by Miss Julia, of course!

Napa Valley
Tara's friend, Jennifer, who now resides in the Napa Valley with her husband & son Augie,
had a party for Augie's 4th birthday. 'Twas a beautiful day, full of comraderie and healthy children.

Augie does not like to celebrate his birthday. He covered his ears while we sang "Happy Birthday".
Liz & Augie even had time & patience for a board game.

Rombauer Winery
On the way home, we stopped at 2 wineries for their wine tastings.
It was my first time there and I enjoyed the ambiance.
Julia wanted to have a taste.........yuck she says!

NaNa, what is it? Can I touch it? It looks scary........

Signorello Winery
This pool looks like it falls into the beautiful valley below.

Julia started off dry. Gradually though there wasn't a dry spot on her!

Yes, we did have our Oakland air very much affected by all the fires going on around us to the north & south.
