The Nomadic Neuman's
April Travel Log

Soon, a new panda baby will be on the way!
This handsome brown bear seems to enjoy his home.

April 1, 2003
A trip to the San Diego Zoo
is always a pleasure.

The zoo has a wonderful interactive gorilla display.
...
As expected, Jacob climbs on the big male & Riley is drawn to mama & baby.

April 5, 2003

Devon worked hard: leveling the soil, preparing it for a platform frame,
& then constructing the shed we purchased for storage at the Hebrides home.
He even added a "French Drain" around the perimeter!
What a job! What a son-in-law! Thank you Devon.

The reward was some fun with a new remote control truck "The RamRod"!

Most of our "stuff" has been given away,
so there is still plenty of room for Laurel & Devon's lawn equipment and tools.

Tara is taking this "biking activity" a bit TOO seriously!
Did Jacob get his "super hero" fettish from Tara, or did Tara get it from him?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACOB

Everything is "Spiderman"

Waiting..............................................................................Hurry, climb in
JUMP !

Children's Day in the Park 4/12/03
Jacob was gone for the week-end so Emily & I watched as Riley had fun in the Balboa Park activities.

Back at the motor home, making a beaded necklace, Riley says:
" I can do it myself, Mommy!"

We do take try to take a bike ride every evening along the bay.

April 14, 2003
I had a wonderful visit with my friend Ines.

Living & dealing with breast cancer on a daily basis for nearly 10 years,
she's quite an inspiration to everyone who know her.

Above, she's with her husband Rick and their two boys, Stephen & Patrick (on right) enjoying Disneyland.

Good friend, Connie McCoy came to see our
motor home & we had a nice lunch together.

Dan had a very full & busy couple of months taking care
of his clients while we're here in town.

HAPPYEASTER
April 20, 2003

NaNa Bunny made the grandchildren "Easter Baskets"
out of fruit instead of candy.

The family shared the evening at Roberta & Patrick's home, with the traditional, delicious Ham Dinner.
Emily helps with the table while her two adorable children entertain the rest of us.

Yale keeps his eyes on his two darlings.

Smiles from the Korch's

Roberta & Darcy..................Lisa Distel, Pat's sister..............Patrick

Gathered on the patio were: on left, Lisa's son, Eric with his roommate & friend.
Dad was there enjoying all the activity.

Dan's computer knowledge is always in high demand. After everyone left, he stayed and got
Roberta situated on what to do merging the three systems as she upgrades the store & her home office.
I got caught yawning....guess I was ready for bed!

April 24, 2003

Dawn flew in from Truckee, CA for a visit and Dad brought her to see our motor home.
Dad hadn't seen my website, so we had fun looking at all the new pictures before having lunch.
His Pineapple Upside-Down Cake tastes as yummy as it looks!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY #3 SWEET RILEY ANNE

Grandma Barbara was there and we.

had lots of fun games, of course!

Everyone was full of sunshine & smiles.

McKenzie & Riley swinging in the hammock

Of course, the cake & the presents were show stoppers!
It's amazing how enthralled all the children were watching Riley open her gifts.

Dawn, Laurel, Leanne & Emily
It was fun to have Dawn here for Riley's birthday.

April 30, 2003
Jacob & Riley's first train ride! From Old Town to Carlsbad Village, CA.

This is cool...........what a view!
Cool..... ................I did it myself!
While we waited for the train ride back, Jacob tied Mom's shoe "all by himself" for the 1st time!

Wow, April sure was a busy family month!
Knowing we leave in just a few days for perhaps a year of nomadic traveling,
makes it that much more special to spend time with everyone.
