The Nomadic Neuman's
January Travel Log

January 5, 2003
Olympia, WA

After a night of rain, the driveway was quite a mudhole! Chuck's log cabin nestled amongst the trees.

See you next time!
Paul was there to see us off.

Chuck's motorhome "Sharky" next to his workshop.
After such a wonderful visit, it was hard to say goodbye to Chuck.

A spectacular view of Mt. St Helens off I-5
on our way south to Coburg, OR.

Had a delicious dinner at Cindy & Mark's,
then met the next morning at a restaurant in Eugene next to the Willamette River.

Harrisburg, OR

At first, it was a shock for Dan to have to get up at 6am....and he didn't want to snore in the lounge
...so an nap in the car solved the problem!

Parvin Bridge

Lane County Covered Bridges
January 8, 2003
We enjoyed a misty drive looking for
some of the 20 or so covered bridges
around the Eugene, OR area while the
Monaco team worked on our coach.

Lowell Bridge

Canon St. Bridge in Lowell.

Two curious llamas came right up to
the fence to see who we were.

A sidewalk bridge in Lowell.

Unity Bridge

January 11, 2003
Alsea Falls, OR

It was wet... it was slippery... but it was worth hiking the treacherous path
when we got to see the beautiful, roaring, rushing waters.

..........
Later that evening, Wally & Pepita slept side-by-side after a good playtime with Mark!
And we got to see some of Mark's impressive artwork displayed around their home.

January 22, 2003
Harrisburg, OR

The Monaco team that worked on our coach did a fantastic job
so we thanked them by providing lunch one day. I even baked Pecan Tassies & Brownies and for the first
time used the much needed outside vent they'd installed in our motorhome. I am most grateful for that improvement!

January 24, 2003
Another cloudy day!
....
Interstate 5 has some beautiful views, these are of Mt. Shasta and Dan just loves driving the Endeavor.

January25, 2003
Escondido, CA

.....
Dad provided a wonderful spot for us to "boondock" right off the dirt road to his home.
We couldn't have asked for a nicer spot and the 80 degree weather was a welcome change!

How exciting to see Emily, Grandpa
and the grandchildren again!

Not to mention Dad's many, many hummingbirds.

January 28, 2003
Laurel came over after class and we all had fun

.........
at the playground in DeAnza Cove Resort on Mission Bay
where our motorhome will be parked for the next month.
