The Nomadic Neuman's
September 2003 Travel Log

September 2--10, 2003
Cheboygan, Michigan
We were fortunate to be able to share grand-daughter Lily's 1st day of kindergarten.
As you can see the bus ride was part of the excitement. She told daddy Jeff all about her day on the walk home.

....

On one of our last days there, we enjoyed Ocqueoc Falls

Dan & Jeff looked on as Lily got a real chuckle
after she pushed Mom into the deep pool, clothes & all !
..........

September 14-17, 2003
Escapee Rally in Goshen Indiana

Lots and lots of every size & shape motor homes and wonderful people sharing experiences of their nomadic life-style .
Gas was running higher as we approached the East Coast, now averaging $1.70 a gallon.

September 23, 2003
Irving, NY

Driving along scenic Rt. 20 in NY, we came upon the Native Pride Indian Reservation selling diesel for $1.29 a gallon.
Quite a find when you have a 100 gallon tank!

September 24, 2003
Niagara Falls

The American Falls

The tour group all dressed in rain gear! ........................................... The rainbows were so beautiful.
.....
The Canadian Falls

The infamous "Horseshoe Falls"

We were surprised at the "Vegas" look that Canada had in the hills surrounding the falls.

September 25, 2003
Cobleskill, NY

We stopped at an orchard to get some freshly picked, crisp & delicious apples to enjoy on our scenic drive.
....

LOW CLEARANCE 11'8" .................OOPS
We hit our first obstacle on the way to Cobleskill Fairgrounds.

We had to un-hook the Jeep, obstructing traffic, and get the motor home into a parking lot. All done in the rain!
But, we discovered another route, made it to the fairgrounds and were pleasantly surprised to have the entire place to ourselves. What a view! Below, you can see the fall colors were just beginning in the hills.

September 27, 2003
East Brookfield, VT

.....
Above,
After a long climb up the mountain and a near miss tipping our coach into the pond,
we made it to the beehive....whew! With Jon & Woody's help, Dan got the coach situated.

So great to be here again. What fun we had with the VT Farnsworth's.
Aunt Mary & Uncle Sherward were so gracious and we spent 10 wonderful days boon docking here.

The first night, we were treated to a chicken pie dinner at the church.

Gretchen & Jim came by
for dinner & a visit on Sunday.

Of course, I had to visit
Mom & Glyneta at the cemetery.

Sure do miss them.

September 28, 2003
Farnsworth Lane, East Randolph, VT
We visited Alison & Jon in their wonderful log cabin.
Jon showed us some good roads for doing what Vermonter's call "Leaf Peepin" and he loaned us his VT. atlas.

.....

September 30, 2003
Lincoln, VT

We enjoyed beautiful foliage as we traveled through the Lincoln Pass on our way to Owen & Beth's.

.....
They have been very busy designing and building the new home across the street from their house.
What a gorgeous piece of property with bubbling brook & all the beauty VT holds dear.

..

After a wonderful dinner, Chama licked the dishes and Owen & Dan relaxed.

.....

What a fabulous journey we are having.
