Buzz & Sandy arrived from Michigan for a 10 day tour of Maine with us in the motorhome.
With four of us contributing ideas, the hardest part was deciding what to do and where to stay!

July 24, 2005

The first day was easy as I'd made tentative plans with Cousin Eileen to meet their family.
We went to Old Orchard Beach to meet the Dunkley Clan.

Skip, Joyce, Eileen & Clem

What a treat it was to meet the Dunkley Clan!

Portland, ME

This is a wonderful town, filled with interesting things to do.
We took a trolley tour to learn more about the town. Then a boat tour to see the ocean sights around Portland.

Where else will you see a semi truck filled with fresh lobster pulling out of the port?

On the left is an actual piece of the "Berlin Wall".

What a gorgeous ride this was! The lobster buoys were everywhere.

Nice sight, but was it ever stinky near there!

Acadia National Park
We had a nice spot at Acadia Campground and on a clear day the ocean view was beautiful.

Maine Blueberries grew everywhere here, tiny, but yummy.....
I got a kick out of Buzz, he was as bad as me taking pictures of everything!

We traveled into Acadia National Park and saw the sights.
Frenchman Bay and Sand Beach, below.

Sandy & Dan rested while Buzz & I walked down to take pictures.

Dan & Buzz were very patient while Sandy & I walked around and shopped.
Dan even found a cute friend! The flowers in Maine are incredible in the summer months.

We saw this quaint Hot Dog Restaurant that served 20+ different brands of hot dogs
fixed in such unusual ways. Thier menu was amazing, and believe it or not, the food was good.

Below is "Thunder Hole". Like a blow hole, and apparently very noisy when at its' peak.

Lobsters, lobsters everywhere! Mmmmmmm I did enjoy eating them.
Even right on the sides of the road you could get freshly boiled lobster.

Bar Harbor is another beautiful port.

Sandy & Buzz rented a car in Bangor, leaving for the Manchester Airport on Aug. 1.
Thanks for coming and traveling with us, we enjoyed your company!

Now we're here, at Pumpking Patch RV Resort, just outside Bangor.
We're getting caught up after 2 months of busy activities.
Next week, we head north towards the Bay of Fundy, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Montreal.........
and then back down though VT & NH before heading south for the winter.

Hope you are all enjoying your summer!
